God’s Word is as true today as it was when it was written.
For many of us our picture of God is cold and distant—as someone waiting in judgment but deep down we want to know God-we want a connection.
The way Jesus helped the people connect with God was to teach in stories using characters of His time that the people could relate to—people like them with lives like theirs.
LIQUID presents a new way of looking at the Bible. Similar to the method used by Jesus, LIQUID presents ten minute film clips with true-to-life stories of characters with real problems and struggles that mirror the same struggles found in the stories in the Bible.
Now we can look at the Bible and see ourselves!
LIQUID CROSSINGS - Stories
from the Life of Joshua
Life is a journey. All along the way we reach points we have to decide if we’re going to step out in faith and let God take our lives to a different place, or if we’re going to let fear and insecurity paralyze us and keep us from crossing over. Making a crossing always calls for uncommon courage, faith and obedience.
As God’s leader, Joshua demonstrated unwavering determination in winning the land God had promised to his people, and in getting all the tribes of Israel and their families settled in the new land. In this study, we’ll take a look at Joshua and the nearly 2 million Israelites as they cross the Jordan River to a new place—a better place, a place unimaginable based on where they stood before they crossed.
The only way to get to the other side of life’s challenges and changes is to step out in faith and cross over—just as Joshua and the Israelites did. Like any crossing, it’s going to take strength and courage. Are you ready?
This Summer of 2008, youth and adults are invited to meet 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. for this new form of Bible Study. The class will meet in the Library and the study will be facilitated by members of the Adult Education Committee.

Summer Sunday School for Children
The Gospel According to Dr. Seuss
How on earth could somone say
That Seuss's stories would come to play
A role in God's great Word today.
Kids this summer will come to see
How this connection came to be!
God speaks in mysterious ways ... and sometimes they are fun ways, too!
This summer, children age 4 to Grade 6 will gather in Fellowship Hall to explore the Christian lessons to be found in the Whimsical writings of Dr. Seuss.
Beginning June 22nd through July 20th, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. each Sunday, the children of Lewinsville are invited to welcome tall Cats in Hats, hear Whos and eat Green Eggs and Ham while looking at these stories, and more, to see the wisdom from this surprising source of Christian writing and thinking.
Oh, the messages of faith you'll see!
Registration for this summer will be held May 4th in St. Andrews's Hall. T-shirt orders can be made also at registration.

T-shirt sizes are in youth sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. T-shirt orders will close July 6. Orders open May 4th along with Summer Registration. Money for the shirt MUST accompany the order. Completed orders will be handed out each Sunday morning before and after The Gospel According to Dr. Seuss sessions.
